Seventh annual Strike Out Hunger Food Drive another success; Liberty High School top donating school for fourth year in a row
FRISCO, Texas – The Keeper of The Game Foundation and Pastime Training Center teamed up together for the seventh consecutive year for the Strike Out Hunger Food Drive to benefit the Frisco Family Services Food Pantry during the holiday season. The campaign resulted in 12,294 items and $2,240 donated.
In seven years of the drive, more than 30,000 pounds of food has been provided to Frisco Family Services. The totals have increased each year.
The event also serves as a competition between all Frisco ISD high schools with baseball and softball teams working together to see who can donate the most items and money.
Liberty High School took home the trophy for the fourth consecutive year with 4,576 items and $710 donated, edging out Wakeland High School and Lone Star High School. The Redhawks won another pizza party from Keeper of The Game supporter Durkin’s Pizza. Scott McGarrh coaches the LHS baseball team, while Jill Bradshaw leads the Lady Redhawks softball squad.
FISD teams had representatives at Frisco Family Services Food Pantry for donation drop-off events throughout the campaign.
Donations were also collected at Middle School Matchup’s baseball and softball tournaments.
