Second annual Strike Out Hunger Food Drive benefiting Frisco Family Services another success
FRISCO, Texas – The Keeper of The Game Foundation (KoTG) and Pastime Training Center (PTC) teamed together again to produce another successful Strike Out Hunger Food Drive to benefit the Frisco Family Services Food Pantry.
Because of the abundance of non-perishable food item donations, more than 600 meals will be provided for less fortunate individuals and families in the Frisco community.
“Frisco Family Services is honored to partner with Keeper of the Game and Pastime Training Center, especially because of their programs of fostering servant leadership in the youth in our community,” Frisco Family Services Development Director Lon Ricker said. “This food drive will help us to provide much-needed provisions for families going through crisis during the holiday season.”
In the two years of the campaign, KoTG and PTC have collected more than 1,100 pounds of food. The PTC serves as the primary drop-off location.
“I was honored again this year to be able to bring the Frisco Family Services truck to the Pastime Training Center,” Ricker said.
Numerous North Texas citizens were instrumental in making the four-week campaign fruitful once again, including PTC Owner and former Major League Baseball pitcher Jason Jennings; the PTC Aces select baseball team; Scott Cook and the Frisco High School (FHS) baseball team; Barry Rose and the Wakeland High School (WHS) baseball team; and Steve Jennings and South Fork Sports. The FHS and WHS baseball players helped load up donations on Nov. 16.
“The second annual Strike Out Hunger Food Drive was a great opportunity to help Frisco families who are in need,” KoTG Executive Director Bryan Hoctor said. “We would like to thank everyone who helped make that happen. It was great seeing so many area teams getting involved in the community.”
