The Keeper of The Game Foundation is proud to present its first Wiffle Bash on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Meadow Park Athletic Complex in Bedford, Texas. The double elimination (three-game guarantee) Wiffle Ball tournament will benefit kids and young adults with special needs and disabilities in and around the game of baseball.
The event is open to the public and will feature free T-shirts (designed and sponsored by Cornerstone Impressions) and raffle tickets for all participants, prizes for the winning teams and silent auctions for Major League Baseball autographed items. A baseball equipment drive – new or gently used items – will also be held to benefit a facility in Nicaragua, and the team that brings the most items will receive official Keeper of The Game T-shirts.
Teams must be comprised of at least seven players but no more than 10. There will be a variety of brackets: ages 10-and under; 11-13; 14-17; 18-and-over; 18-and-over competitive; and special needs/disabilities. Team leaders can fill out their roster and waiver here and see the official rules here. The team fee is $125. There is no charge for special needs/disabilities teams. Official Wiffle Ball equipment and bottled water will be provided.
“Keeper of The Game is thrilled to be putting on our first Wiffle Ball tournament,” Keeper of The Game Executive Director Bryan Hoctor said. “The 2016 Wiffle Bash will be an exciting opportunity to have brackets for players of different ages and abilities, including brackets for athletes with special needs and disabilities. We are also excited to be teaming up with Steve and Bradley Padia of Player Development Center at Meadow Park Athletic Complex. It will be a great time. We hope to have teams from all over the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.”
First games will begin no earlier than 9 a.m. Registration ends Nov. 1. Team leaders will receive their official schedule no later than Nov. 3. Admission is free for all fans.
