Keeper of The Game donates baseballs to The Miracle League of Edmond; Expands reach to Oklahoma

FRISCO, Texas – The Keeper of The Game Foundation (KoTG) is pleased to announce the donation of game baseballs to The Miracle League of Edmond for its entire Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 seasons. The gift is KoTG’s first major contribution to a Miracle League in Oklahoma.

“Our foundation is very excited to expand our reach to the State of Oklahoma,” KoTG Founder James Vilade said. “As we continue to grow, it is important to identify organizations with specific needs and keep serving those with special needs and disabilities. Director Margo Price and the many volunteers with The Miracle League of Edmond do amazing things for their community. We hope this contribution can continue to bring great support and thousands of smiles to Miracle League athletes.”

Price started The Miracle League of Edmond from scratch in 2000. She was motivated to do so by her son, James, who loved playing baseball but had special needs. That inaugural season featured five players. Today, The Miracle League of Edmond features 125 athletes – kids and young adults – playing for 12 different teams three nights a week. James is still playing baseball at age 27.

Price is grateful for KoTG’s donation. The baseballs will be in play beginning Sept. 28.

“The donation of these baseballs is awesome,” Price said. “We go through a lot of them each season because the way our field is set up, they get dirty very easily and they are hard for our athletes to see.”

Priced added that she is excited about a fruitful partnership with KoTG for years to come.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Keeper of The Game,” she said. “The foundation is doing great things for special needs and disabled athletes.”

KoTG was founded on Oct. 16, 2014 by Vilade, who is an assistant baseball coach at Oklahoma State University. The mission of KoTG is to provide kids and young adults with special needs and disabilities unique baseball experiences that foster the growth of those individuals and their love of the great game. KoTG promotes programs that allow these athletes to play, watch and experience baseball at a very personal level. This is all done with a focus on advancing servant leadership.
